The new Follow-up Schedule has been revised to meet the new changes to blood lead testing and follow-up for North Carolina, as outlined in the Program Expansion Implementation Plan.

Note that blood lead levels will be truncated rather than rounded in NCLEAD, due to the legal interpretation of the general statute. This means that a 4.5 will display as 4 ug/dL in NCLEAD and should be followed-up according to the guidelines for test results < 5 ug/dL.

Please start using the new follow-up guidelines for cases confirmed on or after July 1, 2017.
