NC Refugee Health Forum: Meeting Challenges with Resiliency

March 1, 2019 @ 3:30 am - 11:30 am

Refugees have long faced disparities in care based on language and cultural challenges. Recent national administrative processes and changes have provided new challenges when caring for this underserved population. Despite these changes, certain fundamental traits of caring for refugees have not changed. This knowledge-based conference will provide both an in-depth review of evidence-based care for refugees and their families, as well as offer opportunities to foster working relationships among those who care for refugees.

Keynote speaker
Emily Jentes, PhD, MPH, CDR, USPHS, Lead Domestic Team, Immigrant, Refugee, and Migrant Health Branch from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta will lead the day on updated domestic refugee health policies and clinical guidelines.

The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital/Greensboro AHEC Education Center
1121 N. Church Street, Greensboro, NC
