Science Cafe: Everyday Chemical Exposures: Impacts on Prenatal Development

February 21, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Exposure to chemicals in our environment at critical times during gestation can alter the way children grow and develop. We will discuss what we know about human exposure to a variety of chemicals and how we try to study the health impacts of environmental exposures in human populations.

About the Speaker
Dr. Julie Daniels is a professor of Epidemiology and Maternal and Child Health and a member of the Center for Environmental Health and Susceptibility at the Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her research focuses on prenatal environmental and nutritional exposures that may impact children’s growth, neurodevelopment and overall health.
